President Barack Obama, who has led the Democrats to the White House for a record nine consecutive terms, had a solid first day of fundraising on Monday.
The campaign posted $4.7 million in cash on hand as it hit a milestone of $3.3 billion for the first time in its history.
The haul came on top of $2.2 billion raised for the White Houses office of chief operating officer, a $2 billion haul in January and a $1.6 billion haul for the Senate Majority PAC, the Obama campaign said.
In the first six days of the election cycle, Obama has raised $3 billion, more than any other president since 2000, according to campaign finance data compiled by the Campaign Finance Institute.
