Hello, and welcome to the DAWF blog!
DAWF – standing for Drugs, Alcohol, Women, and Families – was set up by three PhD researchers in 2017. We initially set up this collaborative network with the aim of holding an event to bring together researchers and practitioners working in the area of substance use, and women, children, young people, and families. Our conference is scheduled to take place in May 2018 – however, we would love for this to be the start of something much bigger. This is where the DAWF blog fits in.
We hope to use this blog in a variety of ways – to share our thoughts on current events relating to DAWF themes, or to share relevant papers, reports, and policy documents that might be interesting to people working in this area. We are really keen to have people write guest posts for us – if you have an idea based on your own work or would like to provide some commentary and analysis on contemporary events, please get in touch with us! We’d love to hear from you: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our second blog post will be live very soon. Follow us on WordPress or on Twitter to keep up to date with what’s happening.
